Also known as the Eva Solo Nordic Kitchen Vattenkokare in Sweden, is a simple water boiler with a stainless steel insert and a handle made of oak. In this review (“recension” in Swedish) I will tell you why I absolutely love this kettle and the few drawbacks that come with it.
There are some minor issues that could be improved. The sturdiness of the plastic bottom part – it jumps a bit when boiling and it doesn’t really match the premium feel of the kettle and the wood quality could be better. Another thing to keep in mind is that the kettle becomes really hot (it’s made of steel after all) when in use. I other words, you can easily burn yourself. If you cannot hold a kettle of this size with one hand then I’d suggest to keep looking. Unless you think the design is worth the extra hassle and muscle power, as I do. I use two hands when moving it around, one on the handle and one underneath the kettle with a silicone pot holder in-between to keep myself from burning. I have weak hands and holding the kettle by it’s handle alone is too heavy.
I’ve had it for four months and so far no issues. What do you think of the Eva Solo Nordic Kitchen Electric Kettle? Is worth the hassle? Let me know your thoughts at the end of this review.
