GlamGlow Supermud, Thirstymud & Powermud Review

GlamGlow has received a lot of awards for their different products lately. When I heard about the brand I was skeptical but I had to try it out since everyone were talking about it.

Since I have Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment listed under “Current Routine” something has to be good about this facial mask and if you want to find out what it is then keep on reading! I will also discuss Glamglow Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment and Glamglow Powermud Dualcleanse Treatment and compare them all to each other.

GlamGlow Supermud Clearing Treatment

The Supermud Clearing Treatment is great if you want that velvet feeling on your skin. It makes my pores look smaller and it gets rid of all that flaky skin I have sometimes. It makes my skin feel smooth and soft. It doesn’t dry me out, however, I always moisturize my skin afterwards with the Gentle Night Cream from Clarins to help the skin regenerate itself during the night – Click here to read my review on the Clarins Gentle Night Cream. I’ve also tried using the Darphin Hydraskin Light Gel Cream afterwards and it also works really well. Click here to read my review on the Darphin Hydraskin Light Gel Cream.

I have put the Supermud Clearing Treatment on broken pimples (maybe not the smartest thing to do) but it only made things better. It made them less swollen which is always a good thing! It does take time to wash the mask off, especially if you put it on broken skin, and this is the main reason behind why I don’t put it on in the mornings before going to the uni. I prefer using it before bed time.

I’ve tried using Supermud as a spot treatment over night. It didn’t get rid of my spots but it did dry them out a lot and made them less visible, however, I could have gotten the same result by just having the mask on for 20 minutes.

GlamGlow Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment

Now to the Thirstymud which for me is a huge disappointment. It leads to a breakout every time I use it. It doesn’t matter if it’s on for twenty minutes or for the whole night, my face becomes swollen. No matter if I wash it off or take it off with a cotton wipe I always get the same result, breakouts! I even get the feeling that it makes my pores look a lot bigger just by having it on for five minutes! The smell is really nice and the texture too, however, the result in my case is horrible. Nothing I will invest in again.

Some bloggers have said that it’s perfect to use Thirstymud as a moisturizer/over night mask after using Supermud but that combination breaks me out even more than the Thirstymud itself. Which is crazy! Please do comment down below if you are experiencing the same thing as I am!

GlamGlow Powermud Dualcleanse Treatment

Last but not least we have the award wining Powermud Dualcleanse Treatment. I received a 15ml sample, again, from feelunique.com, when buying Supermud. I’ve only used it twice and I don’t really know what’s so special about it. Yes it does turn into oil when washing it off and the formula is nice because it goes off a lot smoother comparing to the two other masks, however, it’s not enough for me. Especially not with the price tag it comes with. I didn’t see any change in my skin after using it once, at least not like I did with Supermud. I do love the smell and the texture. It is a mask I can imagine buying just for the luxurious, fresh feeling it gives me (if it would be cheaper) but if you expect more from it then I personally wouldn’t recomend it.

Summary & Verdict

I recommend trying out the Supermud Clearing Treatment. The Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment might not work for those who are spot-prone or have sensitive skin like I do. The Powermud Dualcleanse Treatment is a nice mask if you just want a mask that will make you feel fresh and clean – it could be a nice summer mask!

In my coming posts I will discuss GlamGlow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment and GlamGlow Brightmud Eye Treatment.
