Weleda Evening Primrose Age Revitalizing Concentrate First Impression Review

So I always get these small samples when buying products online (yay!) and the Weleda Evening Primrose Age Revitalizing Concentrate is one of them. Since it is March the sun is out in Sweden. Everytime, at this time of year, I spend a few minutes everyday sitting on my balcony trying to get some colour on my face. Since we haven’t had sun here for more than three months my face has become very dry, swollen (also due to small pimples) and simply dull. In order to fix this, I decided to go for the Weleda Evening Primrose Age Revitalizing Concentrate hoping for a miracle.

I usually don’t believe in Weleda since I’ve had some Weleda facial creams that really didn’t do much for me but this concentrate has put me on the edge of believing!

I do believe that your skin will be improved immediately after one use if it so happens that the product you are using contains all the ingredients that your skin temporarily is missing. This happened to me when I decided to try the Clarins Gentle Night Cream. This fenomena might explain the effect the Weleda concentrate had on me.

I decided to put it on straight after sunbathing on the balcony. About thirty minutes later, when I had read what the concentrate does according to the website of Weleda, I skeptically went for my mirror…and Woaw! – What a difference!

It restored the appearance of how swollen my face was. My skin appeared a lot firmer and I was even glowing! Not that the glowing part matters since it’s an evening concentrate – but still! I will definitely consider buying this product and maybe the whole Primrose serie.

The cream and its ingredients

The concentrate goes on the skin smootly, it is light and has a very strong smell of roses…not sandalwood (as Weleda states). The “Parfum” is coming from all the essential oils but it might irritate your skin if you are very sensitive to different scents. Since I have sensitive (sometimes swollen and red) skin I was a bit worried when applying it – especially after tanning. However, it didn’t cause any problems and one reason for this might be that it contains the calming ingredient aloevera.

Summary & Verdict

This concentrate really gave me the woawing first impression effect which I haven’t had with any other product except with the Clarins Gentle Night Cream. The only thing that bothers me is that the Weleda concentrate doesn’t come in a no-air container. This might weaken the product over time and might stop me from actually buying the whole bottle. The price in Sweden is 369 SEK (at lyko.se) which is approximately 32 GBP. This is a bit high for a Weleda product in my opinion.

Please share your thoughts on the Weleda Evening Primrose Age Revitalizing Concentrate if you have tried it. Does it have any amazing long-term effects we need to know about? Or do you recommend any other product of the Primrose serie?! 🙂
